Quilt Gallery

While not every quilt I've ever made, here are a few that I've taken photos of over the years.

One of my favorite all time quilts.  It's so simple but the plaid effect created by the different tones is so eye catching to me.  This was a charity quilt.

Upon closer examination to the patterned blocks you can see that these are actually scrappily pieced together from a panel I've had in my stash for years.  Charity quilt.

This was a watered down version of a much bigger quilt I planned to make a few years prior to making this particular one.  I had the pieces and drawing buried in a box for too long so this is what came of it.  I used a half hexie template to create the butterflies.  If I made this again I would quilt differently.  Charity quilt.

Papa's Birds - I made this using a block pattern from a book.  I can't remember what book now!  It was the first quilt I made using all Civil War repro fabrics. I donated to an auction to benefit my uncle's fight of Leukemia.

This was my own quilt design made using the 4 at a time half square triangle method.  Each star was created simultaneously.  For instance, the blue and green leg you can see is made up of 3 half square triangles; one is blue and green, one is blue and grey and one is green and grey.  Using the 4 at a time method I created enough for each star. This lives on my couch still.

This quilt was created using a quick tutorial I found somewhere online.  I think it may have been and older Missouri Start Quilt Company tutorial.  I actually messed up the block assembly and created these instead.   Charity Quilt.

I never took a finished photo of this quilt but I love the colors and simplicity.  This was a commissioned quilt.

Apple Quilt - I had fun making this quilt.  It was randomly pieced together using all different blocks.  If you are one of those people needing symmetry your eye might be drawn to the center of the quilt.  Can you see it?  This was a gift to a neighbor; an apple farmer for a wedding/thank you gift.

Americana Quilt - This was a commissioned quilt.  Requirements it had to be America themed.  It was made using the Ohio star, one of my favorite blocks and 4 different panels.

Created using the Hearts & Gizzards block.  I used a quick tutorial by Missouri Star Quilt Company.  For now this resides in my home for Valentine's decor.

This is a busy quilt meaning I just needed something simple to keep me busy and use up scraps.  I used a pretty lofty batting in this quilt, wanting to try it out since I had never used something that thick.  I still have this in my stock.

I have made many Eric Carle fabric quilts.  This was the last of them using up every scrap I had.  Donated to charity.

Triangles Quilt - I keep all of my leftover triangles when trimming blocks.  In this quilt I used up a few of them.  You can't tell from the photo but each triangle is raw edge appliquéd on with a single line of stitching.  When washed it the edges will become nicely frayed.  This was also made in a quilt as you go method.  Donated to charity.

I really love this one - a super simple half square triangle with white and a solid color.  The plain blocks have a line striped fabric with all the colors.  The back is super soft minky. This was made for a friend's baby.

Made using the tried and true Yellow Brick Road pattern.  This was the very first pattern I ever made when I started quilting.  This quilt was made for a wedding gift for my husband's aunt.

Here's another busy quilt (just needed to sew pieces of something together and using up scraps).  Ironically enough this is one of my 2020 quilts.  You can definitely see a pattern to my quilts made during 2020. The squares in the middle measure just 2 1/2".  It took quite a while to determine a layout for this.  This is still in my stash and needs to be quilted.

Another 2020 Quilt; another busy quilt - This is still in my stash and I most likely will keep this one.  I still need to quilt it.

Mini Butterfly Quilt - this was a vacation made quilt, or mostly vacation made.  It was completely made by hand from piecing to quilting.  I've kept this.

Sewn from all of my blue scraps.  I made this for a twin bed we have in our spare bedroom. The squares were 2 1/2".

This was one of the very first quilts I made.  I wanted to try making dresden blocks but quickly got bored with them so I tried to make something that would finish really quickly.  At that time the color combination of blue and green were my favorite.  I will probably always keep this.

This is another very early quilt.  This was made with the stack and slash method.  I really enjoyed making this quilt and I would like to make another one someday.  I use this on the beach or picnic blanket.

Yet another early quilt but made after the last two.  I did use a pattern for this.  I have since gotten rid of it so I don't know who designed it.  It's been a favorite of mine mainly because of the colors.  As you will notice I don't normally use red and I really like how different it is.  I was experimenting with quilting on my domestic machine so this one has some really nice feathers all over.  I'm not super attached to this quilt so I don't know if I will keep it forever.

This was a quilt I thought about making for a long time.  I love the simplicity of 2 color quilts and the cheeriness of yellow and white.  This is a king sized quilt I made for my bed.  It's my summer bed cover.

This is my daughter's mommy & me quilt.  We started this back when she was very young and actually wanted to sew.  She wanted it puffy so it's got a pretty lofty batting and very simple quilting just around the blocks.

This is partially a vintage quilt.  The dresdens were all purchased at a tag sale.  They are all 30's flour sack fabrics mounted on muslin.  They are in amazing shape.  It took me a long time to figure out how to get them all into a quilt.  There is a stain you can see on the center left and after this photo was taken I was able to get it out.  The batting is slightly thicker and it's all tied together.  This is my winter bed covering.

This is a quilt as you go.  I can't figure out if I like quilt as you go or not.  I never do anything boyish so this is a me trying it out.  This is a donation quilt.

Another quilt as you go. Actually I think this is the first quilt as you go I ever made which was done last summer, 2021.  I used a couple FreeSpirit jelly rolls left over from my Stitch Lounge days.  Now that it's all done I like it much better.  I added black hand-quilting for a bold contrast.  I have this in a consignment shop currently.
