Kids Mini Sewing Camp

Summer 2017

Need a little break in the summer for both you and your kid but don't want to do a full day camp?  This is the perfect solution.  We will spend the morning navigating the world of sewing.  The best way to learn is by doing and we will be making several fun projects during our time.  For every project they make they will have a pattern to take home so they can make it again.  Your child does not need to know how to sew.  We will go over all the basics of planning, cutting & the sewing machine.  If you have one I encourage you to bring your own sewing machine.  It's best to get used to something that they will continue to use.  If you don't have one don't worry I have one available for your child.

Sewing is a fundamental skill and can benefit anyone throughout life not just for the usefulness of doing repairs or making a necessary item but it can be a way of stress relief and to let our minds and hands be creative.  You might not want to share this with your kiddos but sewing is a fun and practical way to teach math and cognitive thinking.  They will be learning "school stuff" and won't even know it!

• There is a limited number of 4 children for each session so I can give plenty of individual attention.
• Camp will be held in my home sewing studio in Buckland.
• Ages 8 -15.
• A light snack will be provided.
• The class price of $125 includes all materials and use of a sewing machine if needed.

The Art of Fabric Dyeing

We will be exploring the basics of dyeing natural fabrics, primarily cotton in this class.   This is a hands-on class so plan to get messy!  We will be folding, wrapping, dipping, dunking, soaking, painting, squirting and more. You will leave with many fabric samples to turn into a variety of projects along with the knowledge to continue dyeing at home.

Share The Class option! This is a great class to come to with a friend or teen child.  If this is something you would like to do you will only receive one dyeing kit and fabric samples and will need to share it between the two of you.  Sharing is only allowed between 2 people.
• July 8, 2017 12 - 3pm
• Held at the Buckland Public Library, 30 Upper St, Buckland, MA
• Ages 15 and up.
• The class price of $85 per person includes all materials.
